On the afternoon of April 11th, at COOC 2024 venue, optometry experts from all over the country gathered at the " One Person, One Horizon | Thondar Defocus customization & MRT Academic Seminar "and" Peking University Boya Beijing, Tianjin-Hebei Optometry Forum ", to share the latest clinical research results of Multispectral Refraction Topography (MRT) and Thondar Defocused Customized Myopia Spectacle Lens in the process of myopia prevention and control.
Professor Qu Jia, the general president of the Eye Hospital, WMU, and Professor Zhou Xingtao, the president of the EYE&ENT Hospital of Fudan University, served as the chairmen of the conference. Professor Liu Longqian, Director of Ophthalmology from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Liu Chunmin from Huaxia Eye Hospital Group, Professor Yang Yingying from Hunan Children's Hospital, Director Zhang Xiaoxiao from Guangzhou Aier Eye Hospital, and Dr. Dong Xuechuan from Thondar do the theme sharing.
Professor Qu Jia stressed in his speech at the conference that the prevention and control of myopia needs prediction, prevention, and early warning, as well as good methods and technical intervention, to complete the national prevention and control task of myopia. Professor Liu Longqian from West China Hospital of Sichuan University: Long-term clinical data of Thondar Defocused Customized Myopia Spectacle Lens
Professor Liu Longqian shared the long-term clinical data of Thondar Defocused Customized Myopia Spectacle Lens-ZiXia. Data from the randomized, double-blind, and parallel-controlled study showed that, compared with the single focus lens, the control efficiency of the equivalent spherical lens was 77% and the control efficiency of axial growth was 74% after 12 months of wearing of Thondar Defocused Customized Myopia Spectacle Lens-ZiXia. All subjects adapted to the lens within 7 days without adverse events or complaints of discomfort with lens wearing.
In the second stage of the clinical study, the control group of the first stage was changed to wearing Thondar Defocused Customized Myopia Spectacle Lens-ZiXia. In the 12-18 months, the SER change was 0.02D, and the eye axis growth was 0.03mm, which increased the effect of myopia delay significantly. The experimental group was not less effective in controlling myopia in the second stage.

Professor Zhang Yu from Peking University Third Hospital: Myopia Control of Orthokeratology Lens and Multispectral Refraction Topography(MRT)
Shen conducted a study on 51 patients who wore orthokeratology lenses for more than one year and found that the wide-angle shooting mode of MRT can fully display the state of peripheral retinal detachment after orthokeratology. The position of the focal ring of retinal myopia generated after orthokeratology is closer to the macula. The larger the defocus width is, the larger the defocus amount is, and the slower the growth of the eye axis is. This study also explains the reasons for the better myopia prevention and control effect after low light area orthokeratology lens, wide reversal arc, increased defocus design, and Angle plastic eccentricity.

Through research, it is concluded that: The Multispectral Refraction Topography (MRT) can assist in evaluating the patient control effect of wearing OK-lens in the early stage, reminding clinicians to change strategies and adjust lens parameters as soon as possible. Meanwhile, combining the results of defocusing detection of MRT, digital lens defocusing design can be carried out, and the defocusing amount of OK-lens can be personalized and customized to help clinicians develop personalized defocusing adjustment plans. This research is in progress. Expect to achieve a better myopia delay effect.
