Prof. Aleks and his PhD student, Chirs carry out the project to document the effect of laser vision correction (LVC) surgery on peripheral retinal refraction and on slowing myopia progression in young adults, comparable to the effect of multizonal soft contact lenses (MCLs) in children. MRT will be applied to examine the peripheral retinal refraction.

Multispectral Refractive Topography（MRT）was based on peripheral defocus  theory, and was, so far, the only user-friendly, fast-scanning device that can achieve full-field defocus detection and measurement which has been greatly applied in myopia baseline analysis, myopia progression analysis, providing baseline parameters for orthokeratology and follow up.

【About Prof. Aleksandar Stojanovic】

Aleksandar Stojanovic, MD, PhD has long and wide experience in laser eye surgery. For the tenth consecutive year, he has been invited as a specialist in laser surgery at Europe’s largest eye congestion, ESCRS. In addition, he has lectured on laser treatment for other ophthalmologists at ophthalmologists throughout the world for many years. Dr. Stojanovic was the ophthalmologist who introduced the operating methods LASIK (1996) and cTEN (2005) to Norway.

Dr. Stojanovic became a specialist in eye diseases in 1984 and has been a part of SynsLaser since its inception in 1995. In addition to his work as laser surgeon at SynsLaser, he works as a general practitioner responsible for refractive surgery at the University Hospital in northern Norway. In 2008, he was responsible for Nordic Eye Congress and in 2009 responsible for continuing education for Norwegian ophthalmologists in refractive surgery. Dr. Stojanovic is a professional consultant for the most reputable journals in refractive surgery. He has published a number of research articles in international journals and contributed to a number of specialist books in refractive surgery. Several Norwegian and international surgeons have visited Dr. Stojanovic at SynsLaser to take courses and develop their skills in the treatment of complex cases in refractive surgery.

As the only eye doctor from the Nordic countries, Dr. Stojanovic was nominated for the “Kritzinger Award 2013”. This is an international honors award that recognizes professional expertise in refractive surgery. The award is considered one of the most prestigious in the field.
